We are absolutely thrilled with the results of the hard work by Chris Ember and Brian Higgins of Cottage Country Construction. Chris and Brian helped build our dream timber frame home in Huntsville, Ontario in 2002. Chris and Brian had come highly recommended by other acquaintances who had their dream cottage built the year prior. Throughout the entire project, Chris and Brian brought their expertise and ideas that contributed to a low-stress and enjoyable experience.

Cottage Country provided both the general contracting of all major sub-contractors including roofing, electrical, plumbing, drywall and heating. They brought excellent skilled trades and managed them to a tight schedule. One of the aspects that we liked the best was that while they were managing all the other trades they were also constantly part of the crew doing the work. We believe this saved us considerable amount of money since we did not have to pay for full time supervisors to oversee the project and a separate carpenter crew.

As an example of how they helped remove the risk on timelines and save us stress, we had originally planned a traditional poured basement. Initially we had hired the foundation contractor ourselves. The day before the expected start date the contractor we had hired decided not to start the project. Rather than delaying our project by months, Chris and Brian went into action arranging quick alternatives to ensure we had a poured ICF basement within days. The result turned out to be a superior basement that originally planned.
